EMail Migration - Client Information

The process to complete your email migration is almost complete. The information below is intended to answer most questions, but if you require further information, please email Project Manager

General Information:
The project plan is available at http://EMailMigration.htm. That document provides both the plan and the actual work completed so that you can estimate when you will be affected.

Below is an outline of the steps necessary to implement the migration:
  1. Clients are advised of change by email;
  2. The new accounts are created as required but not available for use; this means that mail cannot be sent to or from these accounts
  3. A "bulk" transfer of stored email is performed on the weekend;
  4. In small batches, the new accounts are made available for use.
    As soon as your new account is made available, two entries under your name are visible in the Global Address List. The entry without a business unit is your new account;
  5. Workstation changes will be made by technicians to allow access to new account. This is done as accounts are made available, Monday to Friday;
  6. Any email that arrived at the old mailbox between the time that the new account was made available to the Global Address List and the time that the workstation changes where made will be transferred from the old mailbox to the new mailbox on the evening of the day that the necessary changes where made to your workstation.
